I was part of the WoW group that came over this last time and I'm glad I gave it one more go. I tried the game 3 or 4 times over the years and it never stuck.

Lalafell and Roegadyn looked ridiculous to me. I feel like I had so many more interesting choices in WoW. Races - coming from WoW, I couldn't get behind any of the races. To this day, I don't really read anything Urianger has to say. Dialogue - too much "old english" type stuff for me.

I was too lazy to go through the forgot password system because I registered under several different emails over the years.

I'm sure having such a busy semester and feeling like I was playing alone kind of admittedly soured my experience as well, but yeah, the trial didn't hook me so I passed on the game. "So, do we want to play DnD?" crickets "Well, we're all playing 14 together, so let's do that." 2 people were atma grinding (I think), 2 people were doing dungeons, one of our friends decided if we weren't doing anything significant they were going to study, and then there was me being tired of grinding and not sure what to do deciding I also would study for my classes next week as well. I distinctly remember this interaction: Everyone was in voice chat, usually Fridays were DnD nights, but every session had been last minute cancelled weeks before. My friends were also busy doing "endgame" stuff, so I was pretty much playing by myself. MSQ was taking forever, I was supposed to unlock dungeons Soon (TM) as well. I played Archer and Pugilist to 15-20 and just felt like I was going nowhere, just grinding to chase a thing.

I wanted to play Rogue, but there was so much hoop jumping I had to go through, and my friends kept giving me different answers on how to unlock it that that partially frustrated me. I didn't feel I could justify the sub if I liked the game, so playing the trial during a week long break was the best I could do. I was really busy that semester with school, and all my friends were playing 14.

I played the trial in ARR, back when I think it was only a few weeks? Please read the Big Post for more information.Īlso because of the nature of this sub, spoilers might happen, be prepared.
